April 12, 2019 Friday
We flew from Seattle to Boston to watch Stephanie run the Boston Marathon! On the plane we watched a documentary called Boston, about the history of the Boston Marathon. It was so good and quite impressive. We are so excited and proud of her. Michael and I went to the Tavern across the street for dinner. Cody and Steph flew in later around 11pm they met us at the hotel. We shared a room at the Marriott with Cody and Steph to save them some money. We walked around for awhile. I think we stayed up till 2am, it was fun!

April 13,2019 Saturday
Boston is 3 hours ahead of Seattle time so we slept in a bit but not much. We did race stuff pretty much all day. We checked in got her bib number and did some shopping near the race/finish line. We ate lunch at “Stephanie’s” it was good, kind of a pub atmosphere. The  Boston Celtics were playing that night plus there was a hockey game. It was quite lively out.

April 15, 2019 Monday
Race Day! Yesterday was sunny and beautiful weather about 70 degrees. Today we kinda knew the weather was going to be super rainy and thunderstorms. Sure enough we woke up to lighting, thunder and rain!! Steph’s start time was 10:25 she was the second wave of runners after the elite men and women. She had to be at the buses by 7:45am then wait outside (they did have tents till she started.) The buses take all the runners 30,000 + to the start line. We stayed at the hotel and watched for awhile then decided to head to the finish line to hopefully get a good view. We did but waited to see her for about two and a half hours. Lucky for us the weather was beautiful, and the rain cleared up. As soon as she finished it started to downpour! Walking back to the T station was painful for her and it was packed with runners and their families. It was so awesome to be able to be here with her and experience this in person! We are so darn proud of her, she has worked so hard for this and is so disciplined. We got back to the hotel, she showered and rested a bit then we headed to the North End in Boston which is the Italian section and ate dinner.

April 16, 2019 Tuesday
Got up and Cody dropped us off at the train station. We are heading to New York. We are excited we haven’t been back since we lived there!
We checked into our hotel and walked around Manhattan the rest of the night. We went to Time square, NBC, Fox News, & Jimmy Fallon studios. We walked to Rockefeller Center and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. We sat on the steps for awhile then went to TJ Friday’s for dinner.

April 17, 2019 Wednesday
We took the subway to the upper west side and walked over to Strawberry Fields in Central Park. We also walked across the street to The Dakota which was John Lennon’s apartment. He was shot at the gates of his apartment. We walked through Central Park then went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We were there most of the day. We took a taxi to Levain Bakery. So good! Later we went to the Yankees game. They played the Boston Red Sox. It was so much fun. Yankees won with a grand slam.

I love this painting because Michael and I have actually been there! So cool to see it painted by Monet.

April 18, 2019 Thursday
We got up and took the subway to the 911 memorial it took a couple hours to go through. It was very sobering! We walked down Wall Street then over to Seaport Village but all the shops and restaurants were gone they are redoing it with all restaurants and Bars no more retail shops. We ate lunch down the street and met up with Michael's cousin Jon who lives in NY now. We went to Chelsea Market and walked along Highline we also walked over to the Vessel and through the mall for a bit. We then walked the Cathedral of St.John the Devine then over to the Seinfeld restaurant. We rested up at the hotel a bit then met Jon and Brenden for dinner at Junior’s. Pretty good food!

A Callery pear tree became know as the "Survivor Tree" after enduring the September 11, 2001 terror attacks at the World Trade Center. In October 2001, the tree was discovered at Ground Zero severely damaged, with snapped roots and burned and broken branches. The tree was removed from the rubble and placed in the care of the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. After it's recovery and rehabilitation, the tree was returned to the Memorial in 2010. New, smooth limbs extended from the gnarled stumps, creating a visible demarcation between the tree's past and present. Today, the tree stands as a living reminder of the resilience, survival and rebirth.

April 19, 2019 Friday
We got up early and walked over to Fox News. We got on live TV for like 10 seconds but got to see Ed Henry, Janice Dean and Ainsley Earhardt. It was kinda fun. We walked over to Magnolia bakery and got some baked goods and free milk it was delicious! We walked around Times Square went inside of Saint Mary’s in Times Square. We got Broadway tickets for Chicago tonight Christie Brinkley is playing the lead role. Can’t wait love the music. We walked over to Park Place on the way to Grand Central Station and the NY public library. Beautiful. We grabbed lunch at a deli in a Times Square it was really good! We went back to the hotel for awhile to rest our feet. We headed to the theater and watched Chicago. Christie Brinkley played the role of Roxy. Sorry to say she can’t dance or sing to well. It was fun and entertaining but not one of the best we’ve seen. Job and Brenden already had tickets for Cher so we met them after and went to dinner at Juniors. It was pretty good. Their cheesecakes are so good! We stayed at the restaurant till after midnight talking we had a blast with them. Walked back to the hotel. Time Square was still busy and a lot of the stores were still open at 1am. It truly is a city that never sleeps.
